You’ve taken the plunge and decided you’re going to establish an online business. After purchasing many products and studying many blogs and articles about earning money online, you’ve decided that digital prosperity is the way to success for you!
Hang on, before you start building that website or deciding on your domain name, or do any of a number of jobs connected with starting a Online Business, please do yourself (and your would-be subscribers and customers) a massive favor… cease whatever it is that you’re doing (or are about to do) and spend some time to understand the answer to a question that is going to determine once and for all, the basis of your home business and what you’re going to do with it.
Here’s the question? what type of service do I market?”
Now before you get discouraged, let’s get a few things straight. First of all, if you’re going to own an online business, chances are you’re going to be selling Information Products. That’s not what we’re asking the question about, though.
And of course, if you’re even remotely serious about enjoying a profit with your business online, you also have realized that you must market products that are attractive to and fixes a problem of your niche.
Okay, back to the question. There are basically two answers, and the resulting business model you’ll be using will depend a great deal upon which one you went for.
You can choose to concentrate all of your energy and time on marketing services and products created by other marketers, i.e. affiliate marketer. Dozens of respected online marketers have made a lot of money as an Affiliate or Super Affiliate. Some have even created Information products showing how to do this successfully.
Which leads us to the other option: selling services and products that you have made. There are many reasons why you should choose to market your own services and products; let’s examine some of them.
First off, there is the process of product promotion. By owning your own products or services, you will have the ability to determine how to market them. Not so with affiliate programs; that decision is determined for you. As a product owner though, you are able to decide to give higher commissions and free services to e-zine owners and marketers with their own personal lists. This is a very good method to get going—and for setting up future joint ventures.
Next, owning your own services enables you to brand yourself. By opting for this path, you’ve created the vehicle to get your name in circulation and for building an online presence. If your customers know you, and have known you for reasonably amount of time, more often than not they will choose to buy again when you either launch your next service, or promote someone else’s services.
Lastly, by creating and owning your own services you have a better chance for establishing trust. Listen, it’s much harder to persuade others to hand over money if you’re launching your own services. Of course, they need to be great quality items. Because of this, people will be more ready to trust you. And when that happens, they are also more likely to act upon to what you have to say, which enhances the likelihood of convincing them to purchase your products.
