RSS is Really Simple Syndication, a new online tool for promoting your information to wider audiences.
Syndication is not a new idea. You often see columns or cartoons in more than one newspaper. TV shows get sold to cable networks and to other countries.
The idea is to reach an audience you would not otherwise have access to. Since there are millions of people online–88%25 of all economically active Americans are online every day–you are probably not reaching the maximum audience for your content.

RSS news feeds are a great form of communication in the viral marketing game, and when properly managed, these feeds can bring in significant internet traffic. The meaning of RSS is actually not very clear. RSS may stand for Really Simple Syndication while others believe its Rich Site Summary or Rich Syndication Standard. The creator of RSS directory is considered to be Netscape. It was released in March 1999 and is used to syndicate news or information and is usually associated with blogs because blogs use an RSS news feed to distribute their content. These RSS feeds are found in RSS directories where content is updated on a 24/7 basis.
The great thing about RSS directories is that they are categorized, making it easier to find information.

You may already know that RSS stands for Remote Site Syndication, but what does that mean to you and more importantly, how can you use RSS to help you make more money?
Simply put, RSS feeds are written in a computer language called XML, a special mark up language much like HTML. This means that they have mechanisms included that identify structures in a document. The structures define the content and how that content will be displayed within that document. RSS is what makes big news websites possible: RSS files are used to create a data feed which will deliver headlines, links or virtually any other piece of information to a channel viewer application, commonly called a news reader.
